About Disputes

A dispute, often known as a chargeback, occurs when a buyer reports a transaction as fraudulent to their bank. The bank then investigates the claim from both the buyer's and the merchant’s perspectives to determine whether a refund is warranted.

How Disputes Affect Tickets

🚩 Disputing an order automatically cancels it in our system. If you dispute an order, the status will show as "canceled" in your Tixr account, and the tickets will be voided.

By automatically canceling the tickets when an order is disputed, Tixr ensures that fraudulent orders aren’t valid and the tickets will not be honored for entry.

How Disputes Affect Tixr Accounts

🚩 When a charge is disputed through your bank, the order is automatically canceled and the Tixr account is also frozen to prevent future purchases. The Tixr account will remain active and can be logged into, but any attempt to purchase- regardless of payment method- will be declined.

By automatically freezing the Tixr account when an order is disputed, Tixr works with the bank to ensure that a potentially compromised account cannot be further exploited.

FAQs

🌟 NOTE: Thoroughly reading the refund policy on the event page and double-checking your order before finalizing the purchase can prevent purchasing errors that may result in unwanted tickets.

  • Can I file a dispute as a way to get refunded for tickets I don’t want?
    • No. Disputes serve as a fraud protection measure and are not intended to bypass refund policies. When a dispute is filed, the bank will contact the merchant to verify the charge, and they won’t return funds for an order that was wrongly reported as fraud.
  • I disputed my order and the bank didn’t refund me. Can I get a refund through Tixr?
    • No. Once you initiate a dispute with your bank, our team can no longer assist with refunds — even if the event organizer approved them. Opening a dispute actually bypasses the merchant and allows funds to be held by your bank. Funds at that point can only be returned at the discretion of your bank. Any escalations will have to go through them.
  • Can my order be reinstated?
    • No. When an order is canceled for any reason, the tickets go back up for purchase immediately and cannot be reinstated. If you dispute an order but still want tickets, they will need to be repurchased at the full value listed on the event purchase page.
  • My Tixr account is frozen from a past dispute, but I want to purchase for another event. What should I do?
    • When a charge is disputed, the Tixr account is frozen and the payment method used for the purchase is flagged and blocked in our system.
If you disputed a past order and would now like to make a purchase, you will need to create another Tixr account and also use a different payment method.
