About Tixr Waitlist
Waitlist is a feature that lets you pre-authorize your card for purchase in case tickets for sold-out or high-demand events become available. No more refreshing the page or constantly checking back for tickets. Simply pre-place your order, and Waitlist will handle the rest!
Waitlists can be viewed and joined on the event purchase page and are clearly distinguished from available tickets, as pictured below.
How it Works
When you join a waitlist, you are placed on a first-come, first-served waitlist for your reserved tickets. Your card is pre-authorized, but not charged until tickets are available. If the tickets become available, then the order is automatically placed and you’ll receive your confirmation immediately. If your order can’t be fulfilled, then you won’t be charged—simple as that!
⚠️ IMPORTANT: You will not receive another request to approve the charge or accept the tickets, as joining the waitlist authorizes your card to be charged when tickets become available.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Waitlist orders are not guaranteed to be fulfilled. Inventory must become available and you must be next in line.
Joining a Waitlist
- To join a waitlist, find the desired tickets on the event purchase page and add them to your cart. Then, click “join waitlist” at the bottom of the page.
- From there, you’ll be taken to an agreement page where you can read the waitlist terms and conditions and select an expiration date before continuing to checkout.
- Then, you’ll submit your payment information and place your order as usual! However, your card won’t actually be charged unless the tickets become available and you’re next in line.
Updating Your Waitlist Order
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Tickets in a Waitlist order cannot be changed once it’s been placed. You can cancel your Waitlist order and re-join with your new, preferred ticket type or quantity, but be aware that if you leave the Waitlist, you will lose your place in line.
- To update your waitlist order details, first click on the menu icon with your initials in the top, right-hand corner of the page. Then, select “Wallet” from the side menu.
- Next, click on the event card to be taken to its view in your wallet.
- From there, you can find the option to view and manage your waitlist order details just above the list of tickets in the order.
🌟 TIP: If you have multiple orders placed for the event, make sure you’ve selected the desired order from the list to ensure you’re updating the correct details.
- Clicking this will open a window in which you can view and update the payment method and expiration date on your waitlist order.
Leaving a Waitlist
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Once you have confirmed your cancellation, you will lose your spot on the Waitlist. You can always add yourself back to a Waitlist if it is still open, but keep in mind that orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis and each new order will be placed at the bottom of the Waitlist.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: Once a waitlist order has been fulfilled, it can no longer be canceled and the sale is final.
- To leave a waitlist, first follow the steps in the above section to view the event in your Tixr wallet and pull up your waitlist order details.
- Then, select “Leave Waitlist” at the bottom of the window.
- Once you’ve left the waitlist, you’ll receive an email confirming the cancelation.
FAQs and Troubleshooting
Why do I need to choose an expiration date at checkout?
Attending an event requires planning, and we understand you may not want to receive a ticket at the last minute. By choosing how many days before the event you want to be removed from the Waitlist, we can ensure you have enough time to make the necessary arrangements.
For instance, if you need 2 days to prepare for the event, set your order to expire at least 2 days before it starts to avoid being stuck with tickets you can't use.
Why do I see a pending charge on my credit card?
No need to worry—it's only temporary! When you join a waitlist, we pre-authorize your card, which may result in a short hold. Once the authorization is complete, the hold will be lifted, and the pending charge will disappear within 1-5 days. Rest assured, your card won't be charged until your order is fulfilled.
Is my credit card information safe?
Yes- your card will only be charged for the authorized order.
Our system prioritizes your security by ensuring that full payment information is never visible to employees. Only the last 4 digits of your payment method are displayed, and this is solely for the purpose of confirming your order or account and verifying your identity if you need extra assistance with accessing your account or tickets.
What happens if my card gets declined when my tickets become available?
Since other fans are waiting in line for tickets, your Waitlist order will be canceled if your card is declined, and the tickets will go to the next person in line. Make sure to add a valid and current credit card to your Waitlist order!
☝️ NOTE: In this case, you will receive a confirmation that your order was canceled. If you get a cancellation email for a Waitlist order you didn’t cancel through your account, it’s either due to a decline or expiration.
What if I am on a Waitlist for multiple tickets and only 1 becomes available? Will I still be charged?
You will only be charged if we can fulfill your entire order.
For example, if you are on a waitlist for 2 tickets, your order will only be fulfilled if both tickets become available.
If my order is fulfilled, will the seats all be together?
The system strives to keep seated orders together when fulfilling them. However, if the number and type of tickets you selected become available but there are no seats together left, and there isn’t another waitlist order that’s a better match, you may receive seats that are separated.
Can you tell me where I am on the waitlist?
The waitlist is completely automated, meaning we can't view individual positions or guarantee order fulfillment. To increase your chances, we recommend joining the waitlist as early as possible.
